There is no airport on St. John, so visitors
to the island have to find alternative modes
of transportation to get there. This should
not be too difficult, however, as travel between
the Virgin Islands is popular and St. John
ferry services run frequently. Most people
who want to get to St. John's fly into the
Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas, which
receives daily flights from major North American
carriers. From there, there is a choice of
taking a taxi to either Charlotte Amalie or
Red Hook, both of which offer St. John ferry
crossings several times a day. From Charlotte
Amalie a St. John ferry ride will take about
45 minutes and cost US$7; there are six St.
John ferry crossings from Charlotte Amalie,
with the last St. John ferry departing at
5:30 p.m. St. John ferry services from Red
Hook are shorter at 20 minutes and cost US$3
per person - they are also more frequent,
with a St. John ferry making the trip every
hour on the hour between 8 a.m. and midnight.
St. John ferry service from both Charlotte
Amalie and Red Hook dock on St. John's at
the western port of Cruz Bay, a bustling town
from which other areas of St. John can be
easily reached by taxi, bus, or rental car.

Once you get off the ferry in Cruz Bay, it
is a short taxi/jeep ride to Estate Lindholm.
